It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Augustine J. Hickey passed peacefully away on June 9, 2020 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, in his 87th year.
Predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Ellen Hickey; brother, Pat; sisters, Sarah Anne Fizzard and Mary Barger; brother-in-law, John Fizzard; nephews, Joseph Fizzard, Jerry Rueff, Jim Barger and Graham Hickey; niece, Cindy Hickey; and great nephew, Philip Fizzard.
Leaving to mourn with many loving and treasured memories, his wife, Rebecca; sons, Tim (Valerie) and Will (Carolann); daughter, Clara (Stephen); sister, Gladys Rueff (Bob) and brother, Jerry (Liz).
Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren whom he cherished, Timothy, Samantha, Meghan, and Carter; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Augustine was a hardworking, energetic, and chatty man. He had many back-in-the-day stories to tell to whoever wanted to listen. Augustine was a friend to all who knew him. He always made time to stop and say hello. Although he has left us with sadness in our hearts, he is now at peace and will be forever missed.

The Family extends our deepest gratitude to his homecare provider, Marie. We would like to express our sincerest thanks to all who have helped us through this difficult time. Cremation has been entrusted to Wiseman’s Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Augustine’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Due to the current Public Health Advisory of COVID-19 a funeral mass and burial to take place at a later date

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Wiseman’s Funeral Homes – Marystown.
