It is with deep sadness that the family of the late MINNIE E. BANFIELD of Garnish announces her passing. Minnie passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 at the age of 89.

 Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Cedric Banfield (Faye) of Garnish, and Garry Banfield (Ruby) of Garnish; daughter, Edna Carter (Jason) of Winterland; 5 grandchildren, Corey Banfield (Krista), Trina Murphy (Larry), Jocelyn Banfield, Candice Savoury (Chris), and Brooke Carter; 7 great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Cohen, Liam, Madison, Mackenzie, Farryn and Noah; brother-in-law, John Butler of Ontario; plus a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 Minnie was predeceased by her husband, William George Banfield; and sisters, Beulah Grandy, Myrtle Skeard and Edna Butler.  

Due to the current Public Health Advisory of COVID-19 a private family service and burial will take place.

 In Minnie’s memory in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Garnish United Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 160 Garnish, NL, A0E 1T0.
