It is with broken hearts that the family of the late MELITA MAVIN of Fortune announces her passing. Melita passed away at the Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 at the age of 87. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, Robert Mavin of Florida, Philip Mavin (Kay) of Fortune, George Mavin (Marilyn) of Grand Bank, and Ron Mavin (Tina) of Grand Bank; stepson, George Anderson (Shirley) of Doyles; daughters, Marilyn Cheeseman (Jim) of Pasadena, and Mona Follett (Doug) of Molliers; 10 grandchildren, Ricky, Michael, Susan, Deanne, Christopher, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Heather, Holly, and Matthew; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, George Price of Grand Bank; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Squires, and Thelma Feltham; brothers-in-law, Harry, Randolph, Gordon and Stan Mavin; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Melita was predeceased by her husband, George; parents, Nina Mae & Alex Price; sister, Mary Thornhill (George); parents-in-law, Henry & Matilda Mavin; brothers-in-law, William Mavin (Jane) and Henry Mavin; and sisters-in-law, Ellie Emberley (Randolph), Ida Price; sister-in-law & best friend, Jean Manuel; and Aunt Abby Price (Edgar).
The Mavin Family would like to thank Dr. Davids, Rev. Marilyn, Majors Arley & Darlene Masters and close friends, Madeline Masters & Mae Cake, and the staff at the Blue Crest Home for their care and support.
The Mavin Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Fortune on Sunday, December 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Monday, December 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at the United Church in Fortune on Tuesday, December 17th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Fortune.
