SHEILA M. SLANEY
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late SHEILA M. SLANEY of St. Lawrence announces her passing. Mrs. Slaney passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin on Sunday, January 13th, 2019 at the age of 88. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her sons, James (Sheila) of Bauline, and Sam of St. Lawrence; daughter, Mary Ann (Jack) Strang of Lawn; 5 grandchildren, Derek (Michelle) Strang of Burin, Katrina Strang (Matthew Legge) of Pouch Cove, Kimberley (Dionne) Collins of Bauline, Karen Slaney (Andy Stamp) of Bauline, and Roger (Melissa) Slaney of Mount Pearl; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (George) King of Lamaline, and Anne Murray of NS; brothers, Maurice Edwards of ON, Aubrey Edwards of Lord’s Cove, Les Edwards of BC, Eric Edwards of Lord’s Cove, and Harry Edwards of Lord’s Cove; plus a large circle of family and friends.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, William Slaney; parents, Thomas & Madeline Edwards; great-grandson, Tyler; sisters, Lillian Edwards, and Madge McDonald; and brothers, Robert, Bill, and Allen Edwards.
The Slaney Family will be accepting visitors at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence on Monday, January 14th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm; and Tuesday, January 15th, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm; with a prayer vigil being held at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 16th at 2:00 pm from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, St. Lawrence.
Interment will follow at Mount Cecilia Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Lawrence.
